In this bootcamp we're joining Elisha, the Widow (and her small pot of oil), her sons and neighbours in the book of 2 Kings! We're drawing a story reminding us how provision flows from faith, and how creativity and abundance fills the blank pages of our own stories! 

Discover and learn how to put a step by step formula together as Emily shares the methods she uses to map out and kick start the collection of imagery from the text.  Then learn to use it to support you develop your drawing ideas inside the pages of your sketchbook. Create a lifelong crystal clear memory of the text you study and make this bible story relevant to your personal story today!

  • Learning to carve out time and "hold" the space to study a special story and message.

Map out the story in a series of mini drawings to create an index of ideas that you can explore through the drawing format in greater detail.

Hi, I'm Emily!

If you're new to me, I'm a leading drawing specialist and online educator and founder of Emily's Notebook. I've been drawing daily since 2019, refining my practice in order to develop a step by step technique that incorporates an understanding of mindset, technical methodology and ongoing momentum!

40 sketchbooks later and over 5,000 students....

This foundation enables me to document my life in the pages of a sketchbook. 

In my early career I studied literature and went on to read a Renaissance and Restoration Literature Masters degree often drawing the literary texts I was studying in order to deepen my understanding of them in the pages of a sketchbook. 

A text that I have come to know and love deeply is the bible. Its rich visual allusions, descriptions, life long lessons and interesting stories provide rich material, not just personally, but for the pages of a sketchbook. 

Combine both my literary and drawing passions together, I've created a new system for exploring how to draw the bible through its stories inside the pages of a sketchbook that deepen my own relationship and memory of this valuable text. We focus on key stories - one at a time inside the Sketchbook Bible community!
